John Dew is a printmaker and painter based in Oxford. He began printmaking at the Ruskin School of Drawing in Oxford where he won first prize for printmaking in 1973, the same year he joined the Diplomatic Service, later becoming British Ambassador to Cuba and then to Colombia.

He made a series of lithographs and etchings at the Taller Experimental de la Grafica in Havana (Cuba) from 2007-8, and at the Taller Arte Dos in Bogota (Colombia) from 2009-12. He exhibited at the annual Taller Experimental exhibition in Havana in 2007, and had a one man show at the Galeria Sextante in Bogota in 2011, also exhibiting there in group shows (https://artedos.com/artistas/dew-john/). He has exhibited with the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (2014 and 2017) and Royal Watercolour Society (2016) as well as the Oxford Art Society and Oxford Printmakers of which he is an active member.
